INDUSTRY HAIR STYLING WORKFORCE TRAINING with Joyce Gilliard

Apply below for enrollment in the South Carolina Film Commission's two-day PRODUCTION INDUSTRY HAIR STYLING workshop, taking place Sept. 20-21 at Trident Technical College in North Charleston, SC.
The program is free for eligible South Carolina residents. Led by noted Hair Department Head Joyce Gilliard (Rise, Naked Gun), the training is for current hair professionals seeking careers in the professional production industry. It will focus on a Hair Department overview, wigs, period hairstyling, laying hair techniques for character development, and other info.
Once completed, trainees will be eligible for placement on film, TV and commercial internships in Hair and other departments through SCFC’s Statewide Production Intern Program. (Placement and other opportunities are not guaranteed.)
The production industry incorporates hundreds of skill-sets and is an ideal place for workers seeking second careers, military veterans, and those just joining the workforce. All ages and backgrounds are encouraged to apply (over 18-years-old only).
In order to qualify, you must:
Be a current South Carolina resident.
Be 18-years-old or over.
Be a licensed hair professional, or have experience working with hair in a professional setting.
Be able to commit to attending BOTH full-days of the training.
Space is limited and slots are NOT guaranteed. Not everyone who applies will be enrolled. Only those willing to commit to completing the training and are serious about a career in professional Hair Departments should apply.
